Project Educate: Interview with *Loopy-Lupe

1. Why did you become a member of deviantART? What do you like best about deviantART?

I became a member because years ago I saw how many other artists on a separate website had accounts on DA, so I decided to join in on the action, and actually ended up growing as an artist from my experiences so far.

2. Do you have a favorite artist? A favorite Fan Artist? (here on deviantART or off site)

I have many favorite artists, on and off DA. I can't specifically choose a favorite because I'm just that type of person who changes favorites very often! Strange, isn't it?

3. What are you most proud of in your life? What is your favorite piece of Fan Art that you have done?

Well, I can say that I'm proud of who I have become in the last year, both personality-wise and art-wise. I think I've really come out of my shell around others, and my experiences of real life only add on to what I do for art.
My favorite fan art? It would have to be "Follow Geno's Route Here", for being my first real departure into a lineless style, having this strange portrait-like atmosphere, and showing one of my favorite parts from one of my favorite games. I made it when I was sick from school and had a snow-day the next day... Fond memories...

4. What do you love about the Fan Art community so much?

There is a lot of support, and I enjoy that there is always at least one other person that I can relate to about fandom, or just art in general! I think it's a very supportive community.

5. What/who is your biggest inspiration when it comes to creating art?

My biggest inspiration... Music plays a large role in my ideas, whether it be drawing a mood or vibe that I get from a song, or getting absolutely inspired by a song to create a whole comic scene in my head. It's very rewarding to be able to look at my own art/comics and have music to match and show emotions that I can't explain myself. It's a strange feeling!

6. What is your all time favorite Fandom?

Ah, it's most definitely Super Mario RPG now, however I've become a rabid Beatles fan over the summer, I'll admit! Earthbound was an older favorite of mine, and I give it credit for getting me really into art in the first place!

On the more unprofessional side... I LOVE IT TOO!! OMG SUPER MARIO RPG IS ONE OF THE BEST GAMES EVER!!! I LOVE IT HOW BOWSER JOINS THE PARTY AND GENO AND MALLOW AND THE COMIC MISCHIEF AND THE CRAZINESS!!! </fanboying>

7. Any parting words/words of encouragement to the audience you would like to leave for us?  

One can never have too much practice!

Practice until the cows come home!!
